MTB Hardtail Frames

Hardtail Mountain Bike Frames

Hardtail Mountain Bike Frames or Front Suspension MTB frames is a frame that can take a front suspension fork and has no rear suspension. In the past mountain bikes had a rigid frame and fork. In the early 1990s, the first mountain bikes with suspension forks were introduced. This made riding on rough terrain easier and less physically stressful. The first suspension forks had about 1½ to 2 inches (38 to 50 mm) of suspension travel. Forks are now available with 8 inches (200 mm) of travel or more. Bikes with front suspension and rigid, non-suspended rear wheels, or hardtails became popular nearly overnight. The hardtail design has the benefits of lower cost, less maintenance, better pedaling efficiency and increased comfort. We have a great selection of Mens and womens Hardtail Mountain Bike Frames available.

  • Ragley Marley Hardtail MTB Frame 2016

Introducing the next generation Ragley Marley Hardtail MTB Frame: updated for 27.5” wheels!

If you are not familiar with the Ragley range: the Marley is the Alloy version of the Steel Piglet. First launched in 2013, the Marley was designed as the more “normal” Alloy trail friendly frame with a shorter fork and a slightly steeper head angle. The new version is lighter, faster and smoother over rough terrain, more fun to ride, packed with more features than ever before and best of all; we have reduced the price tag! The new Marley offers a lot more bang for your buck!

Building on the success of the original, we wanted the new Marley to keep the soul of the old frame by retaining as many of the original features as possible: 3 Finger Bridge, Taperlite seat tube, seat stay mounted disc brake calliper and fun All Mountain/Trail geometry. To bring the frame right up to date we have reduced weight and added a whole host of new features such as 27.5” wheel compatibility, custom butted aircraft grade 6061-T6 Aluminium tubing, a 44/56mm tapered head tube to keep the front low, seat stay mounted post disc brake mount, better tyre & stand-over clearance and dropper post cable routing.

  • Ragley Mmmbop Hardtail MTB Frame 2016

Introducing the next generation Ragley MmmBop Hardtail MTB Frame: updated for 27.5” wheels!

Our updated trail geometry has been designed from the ground up for the new 27.5” wheel size: dropping the bottom bracket to an aggressive 305mm. We loved the 425mm chain stay length on the old frame so much that we redesigned the 3 finger bridge to make clearance for the bigger wheels without the need for longer stays. When coupled with a 150mm travel fork and a short stem, the 64˚ head angle (66˚ in the Sag), low BB, bigger wheels and revised geometry result in a long, low and planted feeling bike with improved handling, rollover and grip to really inspire confidence at speed; especially over steep and technical terrain.

The new Mmmbop is a blend of DH stability and uphill tenacity. It will descend and climb with such contradiction that you will be left scratching your head. It is at home on any terrain but happiest when ridden hard, roosting turns and hammering the descents! From tearing up your local singletrack, back country adventures in the middle of nowhere, smashing out runs in the Alps or racing Enduro; it will take whatever you can throw at it!
